Madeline Kemp

Kennedy Catholic High School

The captain of Kennedy Catholic’s cheer squad and swim and dive team, Madeline “is constantly challenging herself as a student and a leader,” said campus minister Clare Ettensohn. She volunteers with Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission’s Search and Rescue program and has made a service-immersion trip to Cambodia. A member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Burien, she has a 3.844 GPA.

Aidan has organized fundraisers (often with brother Tristan) to raise $100,000 for a local hospital, $70,000 for St. Vincent de Paul and a local food bank, and $45,000 for tuition assistance. A parishioner at Vancouver’s St. John the Evangelist, he’s a founding member of the school golf team, vice president of the National Honor Society and carries a 4.3 GPA.

In each edition through June, Northwest Catholic will honor students for their achievements and contributions in the classroom, in their extracurricular activities, and in their churches and communities. At the end of the school year, two Students of the Year will be selected to receive $1,000 Northwest Catholic scholarships. If the nominee does not attend a Catholic high school, the nomination should come from the pastor or a staff member at the students parish.
