Archbishop Etienne addresses call for ‘lay-led’ review of abuse files

SEATTLE – Archbishop Paul D. Etienne has written a letter to the people of the Archdiocese of Seattle in response to articles that appeared January 28 in the Seattle Times and the Seattle P-I about a group of lay Catholics, called Heal Our Church, who have written to the archbishop calling for “the creation of a lay-led Truth and Reconciliation Commission” to review “all files related to the sexual abuse scandal.”

Bryant relied on Catholic faith to see him through tough personal times

CALABASAS, Calif. – As the world mourned the loss of basketball great Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven others killed in a tragic helicopter crash January 26, many recalled how Bryant gave much credit to his Catholic faith for seeing him through the bad times and strengthening his marriage and family.
