SEATTLE – The staff of Northwest Catholic received seven Catholic Press Awards, including three first-place honors, during the 2020 Catholic Media Conference. The awards were announced July 2.

Seattle Auxiliary Bishop Eusebio Elizondo won first place among all Spanish-language spiritual columns for “Del Obispo Eusebio,” his regular column in Northwest Catholic.

The magazine’s advertising and creative studio teams won second place and honorable mention for the special issues of Northwest Catholic saying farewell to Archbishop J. Peter Sartain and welcoming Archbishop Paul D. Etienne.

The awards were presented by the Catholic Press Association of the United States and Canada during its annual conference, which this year was held virtually because of COVID-19 restrictions. Northwest Catholic was recognized for work done in 2019 in a wide range of categories, including writing, advertising, photography and graphic design.
