Remembering the recently deceased in the Archdiocese of Seattle

Robert Edward PhelanAUBURN

Robert Phelan, a member of Holy Family Parish, died December 29, 2014. He was 83.

He was born in Kansas City, Missouri and moved to Washington State over 50 years ago. During the Korean War he was with the Seabees in the U.S. Navy.

He worked at Scarff Ford in Auburn for 30 years and retired 20 years ago.

He volunteered at his parish with construction projects and handiwork. He was an active volunteer firefighter in Puyallup and fire chief for the Lake Tapps Fire Department. He enjoyed sailing, woodworking and traveling.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna May Francis Phelan; sons, Mathew, Robert and Tyler; daughters, Kelly, Shannon and Julie; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was celebrated January 3, 2015, at Holy Family Church.

Ineo RantucciRENTON 

Ineo Rantucci, a member of St. Anthony Parish, died December 16, 2014. He was 101.

He was born in San Potito, Italy, and immigrated to Seattle with his father in 1931. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1941. He later worked as a chef garde manager (buffet specialist) at the Rainier Club, Olympic Hotel, and Washington Athletic Club, before retiring in 1981.

When he was a member of St. Peter Parish in Seattle, he assisted as an usher and with seasonal liturgical arrangements. He volunteered with the Order of the Sons of Italy, the Westside Italian Civic Club, the Knights of Columbus and the Restaurant Union Local 8.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Onalda Rantucci; and his second wife, Irene Rantucci.

He is survived by his son, Robert Rantucci; his daughter, Sylvia Doerschel; and one granddaughter.

A funeral Mass was celebrated December 27, 2014, at St. Anthony Church.

Alberta Dal Molin StefaniFEDERAL WAY

Alberta Stefani, a longtime resident of Federal Way, died December 7, 2014. She was 86.

She was born in Saint Etienne, France, and was raised in the Friuli region of Italy. She learned the trade of seamstress from nuns in northern Italy. After moving to Spokane in 1957, she worked as a seamstress at Sacred Heart Medical Center before retiring in 1991. She then relocated to Federal Way.

She loved to garden, both an English-style flower garden and a vegetable garden. She also enjoyed cooking and using her home-grown vegetables. 

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Armando Stefani; her daughter, Isabella Doxon; and two grandsons. 

A funeral Mass was celebrated December 19, 2014, at St. Vincent de Paul Church.
