Cora West-Kerekes, a member of St. Mary of the Valley Parish in Monroe, died April 30, of natural causes. She was 85.

She was a 1948 graduate of Everett High School and joined the Women’s Army Corps.

She taught for piano and organ for 40 years, played with jazz bands, accompanied many singers and performed at senior centers. She played at many churches throughout the greater Seattle area, including many years as organist at St. Matthew Parish. She also enjoyed gardening and taught math and English through after-school programs in Seattle and Shoreline.

She was preceded in death by three husbands, Thomas West, Alfred Kerekes and Philip Howard; and sons Robert and Matthew West.

She is survived by her sons Thomas and Mark West and one grandchild.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated June 4 at St. Mary of the Valley Church.

Joseph Ralph Lo PrioreSEATTLE

Joseph Lo Priore, a member of St. Margaret of Scotland Parish, died May 9, of cancer. He was 89.

He was born and raised in Seattle and graduated from Highline High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and did intelligence work in Germany. He worked as a produce manager and in landscape and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Marie Lo Priore; son, Danny Lo Priore; daughter, Diane Lo Priore Pryor; and three grandchildren.

He was interred at Calvary Cemetery.
