Florence (Kohler) Marx, a member of Holy Family Parish, died December 10. She was 99.
Born in Glen Ullin, North Dakota, she lived most of her life in Seattle’s White Center neighborhood. She worked at Travelers Insurance Company for 25 years, retiring in 1995. She lived the last 11 years at Providence Mount St. Vincent in West Seattle.
At Holy Family, she was a CCD teacher, Legion of Mary minister, extraordinary ministry of holy Communion and spiritual mentor of women.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing and hosting dinners for priests.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; five brothers and seven sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie and Sherree; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated December 22 at St. Patrick Church in Tacoma.
