Congratulations, class of 2015!

The Archdiocese of Seattle’s Catholic high schools are sending 1,437 graduates — 741 women and 696 men — out into the world this spring. Most of these graduating seniors will continue their educations next fall at scores of different colleges and universities. On behalf of the entire archdiocese, Northwest Catholic and participating high schools of Western Washington are proud to honor the members of the class of 2015 for their achievements.

Archbishop Murphy High School
The 25th graduating class at Archbishop Murphy High School will have 92 graduates, 56 men and 36 women. A senior awards assembly was to be held May 27 at 9:30 a.m. Auxiliary Bishop Eusebio Elizondo will celebrate the baccalaureate Mass on Thursday, June 4, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Bothell. A reception will follow. The commencement exercises will be held on Friday, June 5, at Everett Community College. Jonathan Glass will speak.

The valedictorian is Elliott Forde. The salutatorian is Sam Byrne of Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish.

 Bellarmine Preparatory School
The 2015 graduating class at Bellarmine Preparatory School includes 216 students, 108 men and 108 women. It will be the school’s 87th graduating class. Jesuit Father Thomas Lamanna will be the celebrant and homilist at the baccalaureate Mass on Thursday, May 28, at 9:30 a.m. James Dempsey will speak at the commencement exercises on Sunday, May 31, at 11 a.m. at the Tacoma Dome.

The valedictorians are Miristi Devereux of St. Michael Parish in Olympia, Halley Egnew, Zachary Golob, Christopher Harrison, Austin Hirsh of St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Tacoma, Kiana Lindsay, Miranda Ross and Molly Turner. Salutatorians are Parker Durr, Elise Kleine, Hailey Maher of St. Leo the Great Parish in Tacoma, Christen McKenzie of Holy Family Parish in Auburn, Katelyn Michael of St. Theresa Parish in Federal Way, Adriana Parent of Holy Family Parish in Auburn and Julia Salazar of St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Tacoma.

Bishop Blanchet High School
Bishop Blanchet High School’s 58th graduating class has 230 members, 120 men and 110 women. A senior awards ceremony will be held May 27. A baccalaureate Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 5, at 9:35 a.m. in the school gym. Dominican Father Jordan Bradshaw will celebrate and give the homily. The commencement exercises will be held that evening at 6 p.m. in the gym. Dominican Sister Lorene Heck will speak.

The valedictorians are Richard Barber of Sacred Heart Parish in Bellevue, Matthew Chen of St. Pius X Parish in Mountlake Terrace, Shelly Henling of St. Bridget Parish in Seattle, Emma Morris of St. Bridget Parish in Seattle and Anthony Pangelinan of Assumption Parish in Seattle. The salutatorian is Natalie Thompson of St. Thomas More Parish in Lynnwood.

Eastside Catholic High School
The class of 2015 at Eastside Catholic High School includes 171 graduates, 96 men and 75 women. It will be the school’s 33rd graduating class. A senior awards ceremony was to be held May 20. Father William Heric will celebrate and give the homily at the baccalaureate Mass on Friday, June 5, at 7 p.m. at Mary, Queen of Peace Church in Sammamish. The commencement exercises will be on Monday, June 8, at 7:30 p.m. at Benaroya Hall in Seattle.

The valedictorians are Jessica Burch of Holy Family Parish in Kirkland, Haozhi Chen, Amali Fernando of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Woodinville, Alexis Fexy, Molly Foley of Sacred Heart Parish in Bellevue, Andres Rincon of Mary, Queen of Peace Parish in Sammamish, Zofia Toth of Mary, Queen of Peace Parish in Sammamish and Lujia Zhang. The salutatorians are Andrew Padilla of Mary, Queen of Peace Parish in Sammamish and Megan Bastian of St. Joseph Parish in Issaquah.

Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart
The 107th graduating class at Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart will include 49 women. On Monday, June 1, at 10 a.m., a baccalaureate Mass will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Chapel on campus. Father Bryan Dolejsi will be the celebrant and homilist. A senior awards ceremony will precede the Mass. Father Stephen Rowan will be the speaker at the commencement exercises on Tuesday, June 2, at 5 p.m. at St. Madeleine Sophie Church in Bellevue.

Holy Names Academy
The 2015 graduating class is the 135th for Holy Names Academy, and it includes 160 women. Seniors were recognized during an all-school assembly April 30. A baccalaureate Mass was to be held Thursday, May 21, at 1:15 p.m. at St. James Cathedral. Father Michael G. Ryan will be the celebrant and homilist. The commencement exercises will be held Sunday, May 24, at 7 p.m. at Benaroya Hall in Seattle. The speaker will be Mary Herche. Valedictorians Madeline White and Nadezhda Kelson will also speak.

John F. Kennedy Catholic High School
John F. Kennedy Catholic High School’s 46th graduating class is composed of 201 students, 105 men and 96 women. Archbishop J. Peter Sartain will celebrate and give the homily at a baccalaureate Mass on Friday, June 5, at 9:30 a.m. in the school gym. A senior awards breakfast will follow. Commencement exercises will occur that evening at 6 p.m. in the gym. Faculty member James Paynton and valedictorian Natalie Mutter of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Burien will speak.

The salutatorian is Kyle Pierce of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Burien.

O’Dea High School
The class of 2015 at O’Dea High School includes 89 men. It is the school’s 90th graduating class. The baccalaureate Mass and commencement exercises will be held Wednesday, May 27, at 7 p.m. in St. James Cathedral. Father Michael G. Ryan will be the celebrant and homilist. Principal James Walker will speak. A reception will follow in the school gym.

The valedictorian is Jason Andrew Garcia of St. Anthony Parish in Renton. The salutatorian is Jayson Xavier Knapp of Sacred Heart Parish in Bellevue.

Pope John Paul II High School
Pope John Paul II High School’s third graduating class includes 11 students, six men and five women. Father Patrick McDermott will be the celebrant and homilist at a baccalaureate Mass on Thursday, June 4, at 7 p.m. at St. Martin’s Abbey Church. Commencement exercises will be held on Saturday, June 6, at 10:30 a.m. at the Westside Chapel of St. Michael Parish in Olympia. Dr. Jay Rudd will be the speaker.

The valedictorian is Addison Jeske of St. Michael Parish in Olympia. The salutatorian is Paul Zepeda of St. Michael Parish in Olympia.

Seattle Preparatory School
Seattle Preparatory School is graduating 178 seniors this year, 91 men and 87 women. A senior award ceremony was held May 19. A baccalaureate Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 28, at 7 p.m. at St. James Cathedral. Jesuit Father Paul Fitterer will celebrate, and Brian Eisner and Alejandra Gutierrez will offer reflections. Commencement exercises will be held on Friday, May 29, at 7:30 p.m. at Benaroya Hall in Seattle. The class speakers, chosen by their peers, will be Siena Jeakle and James Ferrese.

Seton Catholic High School
Seton Catholic High School’s fourth graduating class is made up of 40 students, 25 men and 15 women. A senior awards ceremony will be held May 27. Father Bryan Ochs will celebrate and give the homily at a baccalaureate Mass on Sunday, May 31, at 5 p.m. at Holy Redeemer Church in Vancouver. A reception will follow. Commencement exercises will occur on Monday, June 1, at 6 p.m. at St. Joseph Church in Vancouver. School president and principal Ed Little will speak.

The valedictorians are Mason Bruce and Margaret Spencer of Holy Redeemer Parish in Vancouver.
