KIRKLAND – After nearly five years, two Eastside parishes have seen their dream of a year-round shelter for homeless families become reality.
SEATTLE – Thousands of area families are being fed with 40,000 pounds of food donated recently to St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle/King County and Catholic Community Services/Catholic Housing Services of Western Washington.
EVERETT – Snohomish County families struggling during the COVID-19 crisis are receiving emergency distributions of diapers, wipes and formula through a $30,000 grant awarded to Catholic Community Services’ Prepares program by the Community Foundation of Snohomish County.
Hunkered down in their homes during the governor’s COVID-19 stay-home order, Catholic quilters and sewers are doing good with the time on their hands, making protective face masks for hospitals, home health workers and others who serve the public.
SEATTLE – Seattle Preparatory School may be closed during the COVID-19 outbreak, but its kitchen is open, providing meals that are being delivered to hungry school children, families and the homeless.
The coronavirus outbreak isn’t stopping Catholic Community Services of Western Washington from serving society’s most vulnerable — including the homeless, the elderly and those with mental health and substance abuse issues.
KENT – For six months every year, members of Holy Spirit Parish bring meals to the parish hall for their guests — up to 15 homeless women who spend the night there.
