Remembering the recently deceased in the Archdiocese of Seattle

Patricia Ann (Mayhew) DutilBONNEY LAKEPatricia Dutil, a member of St. Andrew Parish in Sumner, died June 8. She was 78.Born in Qweenslynn, England, she lived the last 48 years in Washington, including 13 in Bonney Lake. She enjoyed watercolor painting. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Marlin; sons, Daniel and Marlin Jr.; daughters, Stella and Dianna; and brothers Lawance, Paul and Philip. A funeral Mass was celebrated June 16 at St. Andrew Church. 

Sister Harriet Holles, BVM (Agneda) DUBUQUE, Iowa

Sister Harriet Holles of the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who once taught at St. John School in Seattle, died June 17. She was 84.

Born in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, she entered the B.V.M. congregation Sept. 8, 1953, and professed first vows on March 19, 1956, and final vows on July 16, 1961.

She taught elementary school in Clinton, Iowa; and ninth grade in Glendale, California. She was a math and religious studies teacher, campus minister, spiritual resource person and department chair at Clarke University and a math teacher at Loras College, both in Dubuque, where she also ministered as self-employed spiritual director. She was a college math teacher in Chicago and in Conception, Missouri, where she also served in spiritual formation. She was a director of religious education in Springfield, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Alice Laura Holles and Geraldine Helen Holles.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.
