SEATTLE – Increasing Mass attendance, Catholic school enrollment, new Catholics, seminary applications  and Sunday collections “indicate that our efforts to renew this local Church are getting traction,” Archbishop Paul D. Etienne said in a blog post.

“People often ask: ‘How is it going in the Archdiocese of Seattle?’ To which, I’m always more than happy to share some very positive news,” he wrote April 15 on his blog, archbishopetienne.com.

“Often, people respond with a bit of surprise to hear of our trends that seem to counter some national impressions,” he added.

The good news in five areas of growth are highlighted in the archdiocese’s Annual Impact Report for 2022-23, the archbishop noted.

“I am grateful to all our pastoral leaders, and especially to the People of God who have taken our call seriously to live their faith more fully,” he wrote. “Keep up the great work!”
